La stagione NFL 2013 è stata la 94ª stagione sportiva della National Football League, la massima lega professionistica statunitense di football americano. La stagione è iniziata il 5 settembre 2013. La finale del campionato, il Super Bowl XLVIII, si è disputata il 2 febbraio 2014 al MetLife Stadium di East Rutherford, New Jersey tra i Denver Broncos e i Seattle Seahawks con la vittoria di questi ultimi per 43 a 8[1].

Calendario

Il Draft NFL 2013 si è tenuto dal 25 al 27 aprile 2013 al di Radio City Music Hall di New York City.

Nella stagione 2013 Italia 2 ha seguito tutta la stagione, dalla regular season al Super Bowl, e ha garantito la visione di due match settimanali: la diretta di una partita domenicale; dal 17 settembre, la differita al martedì del Monday Night Football, la sfida più importante e seguita di ogni turno di campionato. Sky invece ha trasmesso la gara del giovedì notte, tre della domenica e il Monday Night, tutte in lingua originale

Stadi

Questa è stata l'ultima stagione dei San Francisco 49ers al Candlestick Park, dal momento che la squadra si è trasferita nel nuovo stadio di Santa Clara nel 2014. Con l'addio dei 49ers, Candlestick Park è rimasto senza alcuna squadra a giocarvi. Il 3 febbraio 2013 è stata annunciata l'intenzione di demolire lo stadio[2].

Questa è stata l'ultima stagione in cui i Minnesota Vikings hanno giocato le loro gare casalinghe all'Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, con la squadra che si trasferirà temporaneamente al TCF Bank Stadium (casa dei Minnesota Golden Gophers) mentre verrà costruito il nuovo stadio sulla sede dello stesso Metrodome[3]. Il nuovo stadio sarà inaugurato nel 2016.

La concessione degli Oakland Raiders dell'O.Co Coliseum è scaduta alla fine di questa stagione. I Raiders sono rimasti l'ultima squadra a condividere il proprio stadio con una squadra della Major League Baseball. I Raiders hanno ricevuto diverse proposte per nuovi stadi, inclusa una che avrebbe implicato il ritorno della franchigia nell'area di Los Angeles. Due anni dopo la squadra annunciò che si sarebbe trasferita a Las Vegas.

Uniformi

  • I Jacksonville Jaguars hanno modificato il loro logo e modificato pesantemente anche le uniformi[4].
  • I Miami Dolphins hanno modificato il loro logo e anche le uniformi[5].
  • I Minnesota Vikings hanno leggermente modificato il loro "Norseman", il classico logo della squadra[6].

La stagione è iniziata giovedì 5 settembre 2013 alle 20.35 EDT sul canale televisivo statunitense NBC. La gara si è disputata a Denver e ha visto opposti i Baltimore Ravens, vincitori del Super Bowl XLVII, ai Denver Broncos nella rivincita del divisional round dei playoff della stagione precedente

I play-off sono iniziati con il Wild Card Weekend il 4 gennaio 2014. Successivamente si sono giocati i Divisional Playoff l'11 e 12 gennaio e i Conference Championship Game il 19 gennaio. Il Super Bowl XLVIII si è giocato il 2 febbraio 2014 nel MetLife Stadium di New York.
