WCW World Tag Team Championship

Il WCW Tag Team Championship è stato il titolo di coppia di wrestling della defunta World Championship Wrestling, dal 29 gennaio 1975 al 18 novembre 2001.

Storia [modifica]

Il titolo nacque inizialmente come titolo di coppia della NWA e di fatto era NWA Tag Team Championship. I Wrecking Crew (Greg ed Ole Anderson) furono i campioni inaugurali. Il titolo rimase tale fino agli anni novanta, quando Ted Turner acquistò la Jim Crockett Promotion, nella quale militavano i possessori del titolo, e la rinominò WCW, World Championship Wrestling. La NWA non riconobbe più i regni del titolo da quel momento.

A marzo 2001, la WCW fu acquistata dalla WWF e con essa il titolo ed i suoi possessori, Sean'O Haire e Chuck Palumbo. I due perserò il titolo contro i Brothers of Destruction in un'edizione di RAW,portando il titolo in WWF. In seguito, il titolo passò nella mani di Booker T e Test,quindi andò agli Hardyz, che a loro volta lo perserò contro i Dudley Boyz. Il titolo venne infine unificato al WWE World Tag Team Championship degli Hardy Boyz alle Survivor Series del 2001 in uno Steel Cage Match. Il titolo WCW, così, venne ritirato.

Dal 17 gennaio 2008, la NWA riconosce i regni del WCW Tag Team Championship fino all'unificazione.
