Lo Strategic Air Command o nella sua forma abbreviata noto con l'acronimo di SAC, fu dal 1946 al 1992 la struttura operativa della United States Air Force incaricata della detenzione e dell'utilizzo dell'arsenale nucleare strategico degli USA composto da bombardieri e missili balistici intercontinentali basati a terra. Il SAC, inoltre, controllava le strutture necessarie al supporto delle proprie operazioni, le squadriglie di aerocisterne per il rifornimento dei bombardieri, quelle di ricognizione strategica, comando e controllo e, fino al 1959 dei caccia di scorta.
