Jörg Michael (27 marzo 1963) è un batterista metal tedesco, famoso per essere stato membro della band power metal finlandese Stratovarius.

Biografia

Fin dai primi anni di esibizioni, Jörg ha mostrato nuovi sound e nuovi stili di esecuzione del suo strumento. Dopo aver avuto brevi storie discografiche con varie band (il primo album da lui pubblicato è stato "Prayers of Steel" con gli Avenger (che divennero i Rage di Peavey Wagner) nel 1995 è entrato a far parte degli Stratovarius, fino al 18 novembre 2010, quando, durante la sessione di registrazione del nuovo album, gli fu diagnosticato un tumore alla tiroide. Jörg viene sostituito da Alex Landenburg.

Stile

Il suo stile è molto veloce e tecnico; le sue esecuzioni sono caratterizzate da continui cambi di tempo e da un uso estenuante della doppia cassa.
