Ad aprile 2019 in Francia sono attive 19 centrali elettronucleari per la produzione di energia elettrica, nelle quali sono operativi 58 reattori nucleari di tipo PWR.
Sono stati dismessi (shutdown permanente) 12 reattori nucleari: 8 di tipo GCR-UNGG, 1 di tipo PWR, 1 di tipo HWGCR e 2 di tipo FBR.
Risulta in costruzione 1 reattore nucleare di tipo PWR-EPR.
Al 2018, ad esclusione di Phénix, tutti gli altri 11 reattori spenti sono in corso di smantellamento.[1]
Nel 2017, i 58 reattori operativi hanno prodotto 379100 GWh di energia elettrica, pari al 71,61% della produzione totale di energia elettrica in Francia.[2]
