Il pentathlon ha fatto parte del programma femminile di atletica leggera ai Giochi della XIX Olimpiade. La competizione si è svolta nei giorni 15-16 ottobre 1968 allo Stadio Olimpico Universitario di Città del Messico.

Risultati
[modifica | modifica wikitesto]Dopo la penultima prova, il salto in lungo, la tedesca Becker riduce le distanze dalla capolista, Liese Prokop (6,43 contro 5,97). Nella quinta e ultima gara, i 200 metri, si decidono le medaglie. Oro: la Becker scavalca la Prokop (23"5 contro 25"1) e vince il titolo. Bronzo: Annamária Tóth soffia il podio alla campionessa europea Valentina Tikhomirova (23"8 contro 24"9).
