Nel 2011 l'energia nucleare in Cina ha generato l'1,8% dell'energia elettrica prodotta in totale nel Paese[1].
A ottobre 2010, sono presenti in questa nazione 4 centrali elettronucleari in funzione che dispongono complessivamente di 13 reattori operativi e 2 in costruzione.
Si stanno inoltre edificando 10 nuove centrali elettronucleari dotate di un totale di 22 reattori.
Non vi sono centrali elettronucleari chiuse.
