Pubblicato nell'aprile 1999 Bury the Hatchet (in italiano: Seppellire l'ascia) è il quarto album della band folk rock irlandese dei The Cranberries. Dopo alcuni anni dall'uscita di To the Faithful Departed, il sound dei Cranberries subisce alcuni cambiamenti. Il gruppo riconferma l'intenzione di andare avanti uniti, nonostante le molteplici voci di corridoio che ne volevano la rottura.
L'album contiene diverse canzoni dal ritmo e dai contenuti piuttosto allegri, come You and Me in cui Dolores parla del figlio Taylor o la hit Just My Imagination, ma anche canzoni malinconiche come la famosa "Animal Instinct" o rock come "Promises". Non mancano come nei lavori passati tracce che parlano del sociale come la dura Fee Fi Fo, in cui viene affrontata la tematica della pedofilia. Tornano anche le ballate e le canzoni romantiche come What's on My Mind, Saving Grace o Dying in the Sun, brano appena sussurrato da una O'Riordan quasi irriconoscibile.
