The Osmonds sono stati un gruppo musicale pop statunitense.

Storia

Il gruppo nacque nel 1958 ed era inizialmente composto dai fratelli Alan, Wayne, Merrill e Jay Osmond originari di Salt Lake City e membri del gruppo erano seguaci della Chiesa di Gesù Cristo dei santi degli ultimi giorni.

A inizio carriera collaborarono attivamente in televisione con Andy Williams. I brani musicali più famosi del gruppo sono One Bad Apple (1970), Down by the Lazy River (1972), Crazy Horses (1972), Yo-Yo (1971) e Love Me for a Reason (1974). Il gruppo ha raggiunto l'apice del successo nei primi anni '70 soprattutto con gli album Osmonds, Homemade e Phase III, pubblicati tra il 1970 e il 1972.

Si assisterà a numerosi cambi di organico: tra i membri che entrarono a far parte del gruppo vi furono cantanti Donny, Jimmy e Mary Osmond (anche attiva come solista dal 1973).

Dal 2003, gli Osmond sono presenti nella Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Il gruppo si sciolse nel 2023.
