Endymion è un grande cratere lunare di 122,1 km situato nella parte nord-orientale della faccia visibile della Luna, a est del Mare Frigoris e a nord del Lacus Temporis. A sudovest è presente il cratere cratere Atlas. A causa della sua posizione prossima al bordo osservabile, il cratere appare ovoidale. Oltre il cratere lungo il bordo lunare è presente il Mare Humboldtianum.

Il letto del cratere è stato ricoperto da materiale lavico con basso albedo, che lo rende scuro e relativamente facile da localizzare. Il letto è liscio e senza strutture, tranne pochi crateri che si trovano all'interno del bordo. La superficie interna è attraversata dalle strisce della raggiera del cratere Thales che si trova a nord-nordovest. Il terrazzamento esterno è basso, grande e consumato dagli impatti.

Il cratere è dedicato a Endimione, personaggio della mitologia greca.
