Il Journal of the Chemical Society è stata una rivista scientifica fondata dalla Chemical Society nel 1849 con il nome Quarterly Journal of the Chemical Society. La rivista è stata sottoposta a numerosi rinominamenti, suddivisioni e fusioni nel corso della sua storia. Nel 1980, la Chemical Society e altre società di chimica hanno fondato la Royal Society of Chemistry. La continuità del giornale si trova in Chemical Communications, Dalton Transactions, Faraday Transactions, e Perkin Transactions, tutte pubblicazioni della Royal Society of Chemistry.
