Medardo Jim Leon Jr., detto Jimmy (Washington, 3 dicembre 1959 – Baltimora, 30 novembre 1988), è stato un wrestler statunitense.
Meglio conosciuto con il ring name "Bad Boy" Ricky (Ricki) Lawless, noto anche come promoter ed allenatore, lottò principalmente in federazioni del circuito indipendente durante gli anni settanta ed ottanta, essendo un veterano della International Championship Wrestling e della National Wrestling Federation.[1][2][3][4]
Leon fu anche proprietario di una scuola di wrestling di successo che incluse tra i suoi studenti Steve "The Brawler" Lawler,[5] "Playboy" Bobby Starr,[6] Axl Rotten[7] e Joey Maggs. Lui e Maggs lottarono anche come tag team nei The Heavy Metal Connection conquistando in due occasioni i titoli di coppia nella Deep South Championship Wrestling. Il suo omicidio nel 1988, commesso da un marito geloso a causa di una relazione extraconiugale, ebbe ampio risalto sulla stampa all'epoca dei fatti.[8]

[modifica | modifica wikitesto]Il 30 novembre 1988 Leon fu ucciso a colpi di arma da fuoco a Baltimora, Maryland, morendo tra le braccia della propria ragazza. Il The Toronto Star affermò che l'omicidio era stato commesso da un suo "ex partner di tag team".[9] L'assassinio di Leon, concentrandosi specificatamente sull'aspetto della sua morte per mano di un marito infuriato per una presunta relazione extraconiugale, sarebbe poi apparso come un articolo di denuncia sulla rivista Hustler ("Shotgun Justice: A Pro Wrestler's Final Fall") nel maggio 1991. Al momento del suo omicidio (avvenuto a casa sua mentre era con la fidanzata Christine P.), era ancora il campione in carica dei pesi massimi della Star Cavalcade Wrestling. Dopo la sua scomparsa, il titolo fu dichiarato vacante e fu vinto dal suo ex allievo Axl Rotten dopo aver sconfitto The Psycho a Thomasville, Georgia.[10]
