Nella mia traduzione, ho eliminato questa ragione del successo del lavoro di von Gloeden perché mi sembra francamente implausibile:
"At that time male-male-love "did not speak its name" and was thus totally unthinkable to many who saw his images." ("A quei tempi l'amore omosessuale "non osava pronunciare il proprio nome" [Wilde] ed era perciò totalmente inconcepibile per molte persone che guardavano quelle immagini [le foto di von Gloeden]").

Wilhelm von Gloeden and (Friedrich) Alfred Krupp[modifica wikitesto]
Hello G.dallorto, some time ago you changed "Alfred Krupp" to "Friedrich Alfred Krupp" in Wilhelm von Gloeden. The German article still states that Alfred Krupp and not his son visited v. Gloeden in Taormina. Do you have a reliable reference? Not that I have one which favours Alfred, I just want to be sure that our articles are correct. I am aware that Friedrich Alfred is famous for his love for boys, but that doesn't mean that his father didn't like them as well, does it? :-)--126.96.36.199 12:18, 8 giu 2006 (CEST)
- Alfred Krupp (1812-1887) died when Gloeden was at his very early beginnings and as far as I know did not visit Taormina. Friedrich Alfred Krupp is credited with visiting Taormina with his yacht at the height of Gloeden's success. Although at the moment I cannot quote by heart in which of his biographies I found this piece of info (perhaps it was just Peyrefitte... if necessary, I shall check out) I therefore think it is the author of the German version who should check whether his is just a slip (the names are rather similar) or not.
- In case of doubt, we can drop either names and settle the question. After all, it is not that important to list Gloeden's visitors by name one by one. Best wishes Giovanni Dall'Orto - Per scrivermi clicca qui 13:03, 8 giu 2006 (CEST)
- PS when you write and pose a question, please leave a link to give me the possibility to answer you!
- Thanks for your answer. I have asked the author of the German article and he agrees that, in all probability, it was Friedrich Alfred Krupp who visited v. Gloeden.--188.8.131.52 19:08, 9 giu 2006 (CEST)
