Il tirilazad mesilato o U-74006F è un lazaroide studiato dalla Upjohn e commercializato con il nome commerciale di Freedox nel trattamento dello Stroke.
Cenni storici
Il tirilazad mesilato è l'unica molecola appartenente ai lazaroidi, ad aver trovato utilizzi e impieghi clinici sull'uomo nello stroke.[1]
La (New Drug Application) NDA all'FDA è stata presentata il 13 giugno 1994;[2] successivamente sono stati 31 i paesi nel mondo cui è stata presentata la richiesta di approvazione regolatoria, il primo paese ad approvarlo è stato l'Austria nel febbraio 1995 per il trattamento di forme di emorragia subaracnoidea aneurismatica[3] nei soggetti maschi.[4]
In data 26 ottobre 2000 il marchio Freedox è stato cancellato dalla Pharmacia & Upjohn Company LLC.[5]
Farmacologia
L'(U-74006F) o Tirilazad mesilato che possiede attività: Neuroprotettiva, antiossidante e antifiammatoria.[6][7][8][9][10] [11][12][13][14][15]
