Hi. First of all thank you for the new beautiful photos of alpine skiers. Two things: usually we use photo of 200px; I've seen that you use 230px, it's no a problem, but omologation (I don't know if this word exist :)) is better. Second, if you want to put a caption below photo you have to use parameter "didascalia" in {{sportivo}} (see here to understand what I mean). Ciao --Tia solzago (dimmi) 12:43, 27 gen 2009 (CET)[rispondi]

Hello. I didn't know that 200px is the standard value, I used 230px because I thought that fits good in the template, but from now on I'll use 200px. And thank you for the tip how to make captions under the photos. Greetings --Tschaensky (msg) 15:56, 27 gen 2009 (CET)[rispondi]

thank you for your corrections... I had wrote Elfi Deufel like this website SKI-DB... One question... Why have you delete the place of birth? --torsolo 09:49, 2 mar 2009 (CET) p.s. excuse me for my terrible english... :-)[rispondi]

Hello! The city of "Weithofen", which is mentioned at SKI-DB, doesn't exist. It must be a misspelling of Waidhofen an der Ybbs, but I'm not sure if this was really her place of birth, so I deleted it. She grew up and lives today in Göstling an der Ybbs. --Tschaensky (msg) 12:07, 2 mar 2009 (CET)[rispondi]
P.S.: Waidhofen an der Ybbs is correct. --Tschaensky (msg) 06:59, 18 mar 2009 (CET)[rispondi]
thank you for all... --torsolo 09:25, 18 mar 2009 (CET) p.s. welcome to it:wiki[rispondi]

Elena Matous[modifica wikitesto]

Hello. Unfortunately we (me and torsolo) haven't already found sources for her nationality, but we have some evidences about it. In this forum is written that between 1976 an 1980 she raced before for Iran and after for San Marino. Here (1977) she was iranian. There is this page too (see 15. Dezember 1976), but I can't translate it correctly. I can suppose that Matous raced for Italy until 1975 or 1976, after she became iranian and only from 1978 she raced for San Marino. So Europa Cup 1974 was win for Italy. I hope you can find more, ciao --Tia solzago (dimmi) 11:28, 3 apr 2009 (CEST)[rispondi]

These two sites (15. December 1976 and 20. December 1976) say that she started in December 1976 for Iran.
Here is written, that "Elena Matous, who started shortly before for Italy, but now competes for Iran, finished second [in the worldcup downhill in Cortina d'Ampezzo on 15 december 1976]. The Italians had thrown her out of the team, because she didn't wanted to stop "eating so much" (said her former trainer). Elena smiled now charming: "The italian ski federation will regret now, that they have thrown me out of their team."
This could mean, that she started since the beginning of the 1976/77 season for Iran and before for Italy.
But in this forum someone says, that "Matous, daughter of czech emmigrants, first started for Italy, than San Marino, than Iran and than San Marino again." (But he also says that Matous made her 2nd place for San Marino, which is obviously wrong.) If she really started already for San Marino before she competed some years for Iran, it would explain this site from 11 March 1974, where she is named as a racer for San Marino.

McFred from german wikipedia found this site, which he calls a reliably source, which says, that Matous started in the World Championships 1974 for San Marino. (see also downhill, giant slalom and slalom results). --Tschaensky (msg) 19:54, 3 apr 2009 (CEST)[rispondi]
What looks strange is the fact that she changed her nationality 3 times (Italy, San Marino, Iran, San Marino again). Why she didn't stay in San Marino? It's possible that some sites indicate as her nationality the last country for that she raced (but it's only my supposition). Can I ask you a favour? In italian wiki discussion between 2 users take place in 2 different discussion page: I write here end you answer in my page, in this way I see immediatly your post :) Bye --Tia solzago (dimmi) 20:09, 3 apr 2009 (CEST)[rispondi]
I don't know what say, in internet there are a lot of different information. For exemple in this article of an important italian journal is written "she raced before for Iran and after for San Marino". Here is there written something of interesting? If I will have new information I will contact you, bye --Tia solzago (dimmi) 22:26, 3 apr 2009 (CEST)[rispondi]
Elena Matous was a good ski-friend of mine. We were very close because we had the same service man for our Kästle skis.
The most important fact about nationality is, that in this time skiers who switched to another ski federation, did not have to give up their citizenship. It also was forbidden by the IOC to take part in Olympics with another citizenship than the one of taking part by ean earlier participation.
Elenas father was a Czech Immigrant to Italy and also a very famous Ice Hockey and Tennis Crack. Elenas citizenship always was Italian as far as I know. For the first time i competed against her at the "Trofeo Topolino", an international children's race she was in the Italian Team. Perhaps you can find some more Infos on Elena with the keyword "Rolli Marchi" - he was the founder of the Trofeo Topolino and allways very close with the Italian kids.
When we competed in the Europa Cup, Elena was skiing for San Marino. As far as I can remember she decided to Ski with the Italian team again for a short time, due to the problems of downhill training without a team of San Marino. After this she was skiing for the Iran (as I told you tschaensky, I also planned to switch nations, Elena and me wanted to take the step to the Iranian Team together).
I try to get into contact with Elena to verify my memory (good old times *g*). As soon as I know all the facts I will let you know all the details.--Kunstpiste (msg) 18:08, 19 giu 2009 (CEST)[rispondi]

I am Elena Matous cousin. Her father was a hockey champion as well as a good tennis player, and her mother was one of the first tennis players in Checoslovakia before the II world war. They runned to Italy during Davis Cup and they asked for political asylum. Elena first was an italian skier, only after many froblems with Fisa she changed for the other Countries, as Tschaensky wrote. She was born in Italy and always remained an italian citizen. Ciao
