English: Name: Stella Maris Monastery Description: The Carmelite Order was originally founded on Mount Carmel during the Crusader Kingdom by monks who lived in caves. The order prospered and expanded from there throughout Europe. עברית: שם: מנזר סטלה מאריס תיאור: המסדר הכרמליתי נוסד במקורו על הר הכרמל בתקופת ממלכת הצלבנים בידי נזירים שחיו במערות. המסדר שגשג והתרחב משם לרחבי אירופה. לאחר נפילת עכו הצלבנית בשנת 1291 גורשו הנזירים מן הכרמל וחזרו מאוחר יותר. הכנסייה נפתחה ב-1836, והבנייה הושלמה ב-1853 (ויקיפדיה) מיקום: חיפה קובץ מקורי: DJI_0680.JPG |

The project is cooperation between the Israel Internet Association and Wikimedia Israel in an effort to promote the concept of free content on the Web, by creating an image collection of digital-format, good quality photographs, documenting events relating to the history of Israel, or depicting places of distinction in Israel and the Middle East. The Pikiwiki Project is managed from 2021 by the "Heritage Stones" group.
