Pardon my English, but isn't this a painting by Lorenzo Costa il Vecchio? Sure, the file name would suggest differently, but it is so categorized on commons, where there is also a different version (here shown).
This image in turn is presented at Storia della musica#Gli inizi della polifonia as being by Lorenzo Costa.
These two versions seem to me to be reproductions of the same painting, but I'm no expert, so I cannot rule out one painter copying the other's work. What seems certain is that either the attribution on Commons or in this article is in error: Immagine:Ercole de' Roberti 003.jpg cannot be by both painters. An expert may want to fix either or both.

- The National Gallery's site, where it resides, says it's a painting by Lorenzo Costa, so it seems there's indeed an error. -- Rojelio (dimmi tutto) 20:15, 12 mag 2008 (CEST)
