Saturday 13 october 2018 InFormAzionI together with the en:Institute of Ecosystem Study and with the support of en:Wikimedia Switzerland and the "Comittee for the recovery and protection of the Lake Orta and its ecosystem" are hosting an edit-a-thon in Verbania, on the shores of the Lago Maggiore (Italy).

WHO: The event is for expert wikipedians only, Wikimedia Switzerland is supporting the participation of two francofone and two german speaking wikipedians interested in the specific topic of the event.
WHAT:This edit-a-thon will focus on limnology (and limnologists), freshwater bivalves and the history of the liming intervention on the Lake Orta. There will be sources in english, and attending wikipedians and experts from the institute speak english and german.
WHEN: Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 10:00am to 17:00pm
WHERE:The edit-a-thon will be held at the en:Institute of Ecosystem Study in Verbania (Pallanza).
OTHER: Please bring your laptop for use, WiFi and electrical outlets will be provided.

Verbania is located in northwest Italy, on the shore of Lake Maggiore, about 91 km (57 mi) north-west of Milan and about 40 km (25 mi) from Locarno in Switzerland.

The nearest station coming from Switzerland (via Simplon) is Stresa, from Stresa F.S. there is a bus connection to Pallanza (Timetable) but we can provide for lifts from and to.
