Hapax is an Italian Postpunk/Darkwave music project born in Napoli in 2014 from Michele Mozzillo (voice, bass guitar, synth), Diego Cardone (guitar, synth, programming), Francesco Giuliano (drums) and Alessandra Policella (lyrics and inspiration).

The debut album was released on December 2014 for the label Swiss Dark Nights and is a 11 tracks concept inspired to the narrative device employed by some writers of the early XXth Century, the “Stream of consciousness”, which seeks to depict the multitudinous thoughts and feelings which like a flow pass through the mind before they could be logically organized in sentences. A dramatic and exhausting introspection into human soul.

Hapax's first release receives excellent reviews from industry fanzines and webzines (Postpunk.com / Peekaboomagazine / Sonic Seducer), putting it among the best Darkwave Coldwave debut albums of that year.

Monade LP (2019)

The album is based on the dramatic idea that there is a hopeless gap between words and reality and that each attempt to speak triggers a distressing conceptual catch. Language deconstruction unhinged the modern man from faith in words, conceived as expression of the Absolute Truth. World coordinates become then unclear: we can either anchor in the past and look outside through the deforming lens of memory, or turn ourselves to the vision of a comforting but fictional Eternity.

This third release is a work about the impossibility to communicate, since communication is just an artifact of the so-called “real”. And still Monade keeps endlessly playing with the foolish (auto)illusion of its possibility.

Covid19 Pandemic + Live Streaming + Exile EP (2021)

A work conceived during the quarantine age and inspired by the desire to escape from the claustrophobic lockdown’s reality. Isolation leads one to reconsider oneself as an individual. On the other hand art has paid the highest price by being neglected and set aside. “Culture only exists when it is experienced”.

The band toured Europe and Latin America sharing the stage with important bands of the scene such as Clan of Xymox, She Past Away, Skeletal Family, Boy Harsher, Drab Majesty, Lebanon Hanover, Mr Kitty, Hante, Covenant, Minuit Machine, Agent Side Grinder, The Frozen Autumn, Pink Turns Blue, The Beauty Of Gemina, Diary of Dream, Neon,Pankow, Soviet Soviet, Detachments, Ash Code, .
