The Semenovs are a noble family.

Two surnames of Semenov are entered in the Herbarium:

The Semenovs, whose ancestors were granted estates in 1624 (Coat of Arms. Part V. No. 78)

Ivan Platonovich Semenov, recognized in the nobility in 1880 (Coat of Arms XIV. № 128).

By the definition of the Tver Noble Assembly, the Semenov family was included in the genealogy of the noble book in the VI part of the ancient nobility.

There are also two families of Semenovs, descended from the Little Russian nobility, the descendants of military comrades: Evstafy Semenovich Semenov (1775, coat of arms of Leliva) and Moses Semenov (mid-XVIII century).

The origin and history of the genus[edit | edit code]

The ancestor of the noble family of the Semenovs was a native of the Golden Horde — Tatar Karkadyn, who entered the service of the Grand Duke of Ryazan Oleg Ivanovich in the XIV century and was named Simeon in holy baptism[2]. The Grand Duke granted Simeon extensive fiefdoms in the upper reaches of the Proni River.

Симеон положил начало двум родам — княжескому роду Каркадыновых, угасшему в XVII веке, и боярскому роду Семёновых, перешедшему на службу к московскому царю после присоединения Великого Рязанского княжества (1521).

Опричниками Ивана Грозного числились: Иван, Иван (сторож), Иван, Кирилл, Меньшик, Неждан, Немчин Михайлович, Русин, Стряп, Тренка, Фёдор Яковлевич, Фома, Юрий Семёновы (1573).

Василий Григорьевич Семёнов - думный дьяк (1676-1692).

В родословной Семёновых выделились три ветви: рязанская, тверская и саратовская.

Описание гербов

Герб. Часть V. № 78[править | править код]

В щите, имеющем голубое поле, горизонтально изображены две серебряные полосы и под ними две золотые стрелы, остриями обращённые вниз (изм. польский герб Ёдзешко).

Щит увенчан обыкновенным дворянским шлемом с дворянской на нём короной, на поверхности которой крестообразно положены две шпаги. Намёт на щите голубой, подложенный серебром. Щитодержатели: два воина, имеющие в руке по одному бердышу.

Герб статского советника Ивана Платоновича Семёновы и сыновей: щит поделен вертикально на голубое и золотое поля В них вертикально по снопу, переменных с полями цветов. Над щитом дворянский коронованный шлем. Нашлемник - накрест два скрещенных голубых меча с золотыми рукоятками, в середине на них золотой полумесяц, рогами вверх. Намёт голубой с золотом.

On the third is the Count 's crown . The mantle is crowned with the crown of the Prince. Silver and azure colors.

Vasily Semenov - clerk, voivode in Nizhny Novgorod (1608-1609).

Semenov Dobrynya Nikitich - dyak (1627-1629), voivode in Novgorod the Great (1620 and 1623-1626), In Kazan (1629-1631).

Semenov Ivan - voivode in Albazin (1683).

Semenov Pavel - voivode in Nedrigailov (1683).

Semenov Andrey Semenovich - voivode in Romanov (on the Volga) (1694).

Semenovs: Fedor and Lev Grigorievich, Kirill Ivanovich, Ivan Kirillovich, Andrey Semenovich - Moscow nobles (1672-1695).

Semenovs: Nikita and Ivan Vasilyevich, Dmitry Ivanovich - solicitors (1692).

Semenovs: Andrey Ivanovich, Vasily and Alexey Vasilyevich - stolniki (1680-1692)[6][7].
