Sorry for writing in English. I hope someone can translate this.

First I wanted to thank you all again for being among the first four Wikipedias to test Wikidata's first phase (language links). I really appreciate it. We're right now preparing the deployment of this on all the remaining Wikipedias. This is planned for March 6.

My second and main reason for writing: We're making the plan for the deployment of the second phase of Wikidata right now. This is scheduled for the end of March. Here is what phase 2 is all about:

  • infobox templates can be rewritten to include data from Wikidata
  • existing infoboxes will continue to work
  • the current syntax for how to include data from Wikidata in infobox templates is at meta:Wikidata/Notes/Inclusion syntax
  • d:Q159 gives an example of what kinds of data is already in Wikidata. More data will be added in the coming weeks by Wikidata editors and more data types are being worked on by the development team. This includes for example string, number, date/time and geocoordinates


If there is no strong objections I'd like this Wikipedia to join the group of 3 Wikipedias who will get this first. The current plan is for this to be Italian, Hungarian and Hebrew.

Volevo innanzitutto ringraziarvi per essere stati tra le prime quattro Wikipedia a testare la fase 1 di Wikidata (collegamenti inter-lingua). Lo apprezzo molto. Ci stiamo ora preparando ad allargarne l'uso su tutte le Wikipedia rimanenti (previsto per il 6 marzo).
Il secondo e principale motivo di questo mio messaggio è che ci stiamo preparando per l'inizio della fase due, previsto per la fine di marzo. La fase due prevede:
  • i template degli infobox potranno essere modificati per includere dati provenienti da Wikidata
  • gli infobox esistenti continueranno comunque a funzionare
  • la sintassi per prelevare ed utilizzare le informazioni da Wikidata all'interno dei template è descritta in meta:Wikidata/Notes/Inclusion syntax
  • l'item d:Q159 (Russia) è un esempio del tipo di informazioni ricavabili da Wikidata. Ulteriori dati saranno aggiunti dai contributori di Wikidata nelle prossime settimane, mentre il team di sviluppo lavorerà su ulteriori tipi di dato (stringhe, numeri, date, coordinate geografiche...)
Se non ci sono obiezioni, avrei piacere che questa Wikipedia facesse parte del gruppo di tre che per prime parteciperanno a questa fase (attualmente è previsto che siano quelle italiana, ungherese ed ebraica).
