Il nome del template deriva dal tag <sub> che nell'HTML ha appunto questo scopo (dall'inglese subscript).
Esempio d'uso

Il testo può essere messo in posizione di pedice anche semplicemente utilizzando i tag <sub> e </sub>, quindi:

<sub>pedice</sub>produce: pedice
This template may be listed at Wikipedia:Subst as a good candidate for substituting (i.e. {{subst:sub}} ). On a page that uses the template many times, however, this is likely to clutter and lengthen the page significantly.
