The ducal palace of Senigallia is situated in Senigallia, in the province of Ancona.
Description and history
[modifica | modifica wikitesto]The ducal palace is located in front of the Roveresca fortress of Senigallia, in a large square. It was built in the middle of the XVI century, upon kind request of Guidobaldo II Della Rovere, according to a project of the architect Gerolamo Genga. Later expanded by Francesco Maria Della Rovere. The palace was used as a representative residence for the court and for its illustrious guest. It doesn’t have a yard while the throne room is embellished by a coffered ceiling attributed to the painter Taddeo Zuccari.
