Ciao Guidomac, excuse me that I write in English as I can only understand Italian but do not speak. I am trying to help User:Primari, who is a friend of mine, to learn editing Wikipedia and translate my English article into Italian under my guidance. Unfortunately, it seems that Wikipedia rules go against me, although I am doing this all in good faith. I have told my friend to copy my English article into her user subpage and to develop a translation there, step by step, and when the article is ready, move it into the article namespace. The translation obviously includes translation of links (that need to get blue once they are correct, so the translation needs to be done on live Wikipedia) and categories (I reverted the edit that removed them, because if the English categories are not there, the newbie will not have anything to imitate to put there Italian ones later, and the article risks ending up without any category). We have intentionally not started the article in the main namespace, because the instruction and translation process takes time and I want my friend to actually learn something by contributing, and not to have other Wikipedians done it before you, or have her article deleted because it was not yet complete. That's why I have opted for the user subpage - and that's why I do and will do edit her user subpage occasionally - because there is already enough to learn about editing Wikipedia in general and I really do not want to confuse her even more by explaining what other people have done to her subpage when she was not there. If you can suggest a better place for such an article incubator where a newbie can develop a translation with the guidance of a teacher (and, if possible, no one else for that moment), please tell me. Thank you for understanding my point. Blahma (msg) 15:55, 13 feb 2012 (CET)[rispondi]
