Hi I don't speak italian but am able to read it. I had added "the majority of the population" more as a rephrasing than as an addition of information. I felt "was the language spoken by the population prior to the francization" seemed like ambiguous phrasing to me because
- cities aren't linguistically homogenous, neither then nor now
- niçard is still spoken in Nice, but by a minority (I.E. it didn't go from all to none, but from most to a few)
