Sorry to write those lines in English, I only can read Italian. I disagree with some sentences in the article Guendalina:

• Deriva dal nome inglese Gwendolin o Gwendolyn, presente in numerose leggende bretoni. I can find but one such legend, in en:Queen Gwendolen .
• Il nome inglese deriva a sua volta dal gallese. The problem is that the name was unknown in Welsh and English before XIXth century. It comes from the latinized name Gwendoloena created in the XIIth century (The name Gwendolen is thought to stem from the name Gwendoloena, who was a fictional female character in Historia Regum Britanniae written by en:Geoffrey of Monmouth in 1135).
• Secondo altre versioni, invece, il nome ha un'origine gotica e significa "piccola Vandala". No source given.
• Viene festeggiato il 14 ottobre in memoria di santa Guendolina del Galles. Bis repetita: The name is unknown in Wales before XIXth century, the saint does not exist, and so cant be honoured. But there is a Santez Gwenn, known in Brittany.
• È il nome della protagonista femminile di The importance of being Earnest di Oscar Wilde. Her name is not Guendalina but Gwendolen Fairfax.
