English: Ilya Efimovich Repin (1841-1930) Protruding Russian artist Ilya Efimovich Repin was born in 1844 in a Chuguev in family of the retired soldier.

Initial skills of painting has received from чугуевских icon painters. In 1863 has acted in the Petersburg Academy of arts and in 1871 has finished it. Was teacher, the professor - the head of a workshop and the rector (1898-1899 г.г.) Academies of arts, at the same time taught at school-workshop Tenishevoj; among its disciples. M. Kustodiev, I.E.Grabar, etc. gave also private lessons of Century to V.A.Serov. The author of such famous pictures: "Barge haulers on Volga", "Ivan Groznyj and its son Ivan", as well as portraits of Item of A.Strepetovoj, N.I.Pirogova, I.N.Kramskogo, I.S.Turgeneva.

Русский: Илья Ефимович Репин (1844 -1930 г.г.) Выдающийся русский художник Илья Ефимович Репин родился в 1844 году в г.Чугуеве на Харьковщине в семье отставного солдата.

Первоначальные навыки живописи получил от чугуевских иконописцев. В 1863 году поступил в Петербургскую Академию художеств и в 1871 году закончил ее. Был преподователем, затем профессором - руководителем мастерской и ректором (1898-1899 г.г.) Академии художеств, одновременно преподавал в школе-мастерской Тенишевой; среди его учеников Б. М. Кустодиев, И. Э. Грабарь и т.д. Давал также частные уроки В. А. Серову. Автор таких знаменитых картин:"Бурлаки на Волге", "Письмо запорожцев турецкому султану", "Иван Грозный и его сын Иван",а также портреты П. А. Стрепетовой, Н. И. Пирогова, П. М. Третьякова, И. Н. Крамского, И. С. Тургенева. Последние годы жизни провел в местечке "Куоккала", на Карельском перешейке (ныне пос. "Репино" Ленинградской области).
