Questa è una lista di comparazione dei dispositivi disegnati e venduti da Apple, che montano un sistema operativo di nome iOS basato su Unix, spesso vengono semplicemente chiamati iDevices. I dispositivi includono: iPhone uno smartphone multimediale, iPod Touch un PC portatile con un design molto simile all'iPhone ma che non possiede le antenne cellulare e altre componenti hardware, e iPad un tablet. Tutti e tre i dispositivi funzionano come clients per internet, come lettori mp3 e come media portatili. La Apple TV, che utilizza iOS dalla seconda generazione hardware, è un set-top box per lo streaming di contenuti audio e video da fonti locali e da certi servizi internet alla TV collegata; non ha uno schermo proprio. Circa 1.35 miliardi di dispositivi iOS sono stati venduti in tutto il mondo fino a marzo 2015

Il sistema operativo sui dispositivi iOS può essere aggiornato tramite itunes, o, da iOS 5 anche via OTA. Le versioni maggiori di iOS tendono ad essere rilasciate ogni volta che viene lanciato un nuovo modello di iPhone (circa una all'anno) ed è gratuito, anche se gli utenti con iPod touch  hanno inizialmente dovuto pagare per gli aggiornamenti (fino ad iOS 4). Apple aggiorna i suoi dispositivi periodicamente (approssimativamente ogni anno)

Il display da 3½ pollici introdotto con l'iPhone originale (iPhone EDGE) è rimasto invariato su tutti i modelli fino al 2010. L'iPad ha un grosso display che utilizza una differente risoluzione. L'iPhone 4, l'iPhone 4S e la quarta generazione di iPod Touch mantengono le dimensioni fisiche dei precedenti modelli, ma hanno una doppia risoluzione nelle stesse dimensioni; in questo modo hanno dovuto quadruplicare il numero di pixel nella stessa quantità di spazio. L'iPhone 5 è stato il primo melafonino a staccarsi dalla linea tradizionale con un aumento di dimensioni,  dal display da 3,5" a quello da 4", e la risoluzione venne incrementata per includere la porzione aggiuntiva di schermo. L'iPhone 6 e l'iPhone 6 Plus sono stati i secondi smartphone targati Apple a staccarsi dalla stessa linea che li aveva creati, con display di dimensioni da 4,7" e 5,5", con un importante incremento di risoluzione per includere le nuove parti di display.
