To list an image:

1	Modifica la pagina dell'immagine. Aggiungi {{cancellaimmagine|log=2024 aprile 23}} alla pagina dell'immagine.
2	Crea la pagina di cancellazione. Segui questo link ed aggiungi l'immagine utilizzando il seguente template {{subst:cancellaimmagine2|Nomeimmagine.ext|Utente= |Motivo= }} ~~~~ Ricorda di inserire nel motivo (se è il caso): l'immagine migliore con cui l'immagine sarebbe stata sostituita (caso OB); la voce da cui hai rimosso l'immagine. Aggiungi anche una spiegazione il più possibile esaustiva dei motivi per cui l'immagine dovrebbe esser cancellata (se vuoi fai riferimento all'elenco sottostante.
3	Informa l'utente. Informa l'utente che ha caricato l'immagine che essa si trova in cancellazione. Puoi utilizzare il seguente messaggio: {{subst:cancellaimmagineutente|Image:Nomeimmagine.ext}}

Indica le ragioni per cui l'immagine dovrebbe essere cancellata. Alcune ragioni comuni sono le seguenti. Un'immagine può anche presentare più di una di queste ragioni.

• Obsoleta (OB) - L'immagine è stata sostituita da una versione migliore. Indica tale nuova immagine nella richiesta di cancellazione.
• Orfana (OR) - L'immagine non è usata in nessuna pagina di Wikipedia (è presente in Speciale:ImmaginiNonUsate). Non essendo it.wiki un repository di immagini, essa deve in ogni caso essere sistemata. In particolare:
  • se l'immagine ha licenza libera, può/deve essere spostata su commons (mettere una scadenza? obbligare chi segnala l'immagine a trasferire? festival della qualità?), a meno che non sia accettata secondo le policies di commons per:
    • inutilità (vedi qui);
    • licenza incompatibile (come le PD-Italia; e in questo caso che si fa? strappo alla regola?);
  • se l'immagine era stata caricata in virtù della Wikipedia:EDP, o si trova entro una settimana una voce in cui sia razionalmente inseribile, o si cancella; nel frattempo, si deve avvisare l'utente ed inserire nell'immagine il template {{utente avvertito EDP}};
• Non enciclopedica (NE) - L'immagine non sembra essere utile all'enciclopedia. Le immagini utilizzate nelle pagine utente sono tollerate, purchè non siano in numero palesemente eccessivo (gallerie di foto personali etc).
• Bassa qualità (BQ) - L'immagine ha una risoluzione estremamente bassa, è rovinata, distorta o per motivi vari è poco fruibile.
• Copyright dubbio((C)) - L'immagine potrebbe avere problemi di copyright.

Queste non sono le uniche ragioni valide per cancellare un'immagine. Spesso motivazioni del genere potrebbero anche non essere di per sè sufficienti per cancellare una determinata immagine. In ogni caso, è fortemente consigliato di spiegare in modo esaustivo i motivi per cui un'immagine dovrebbe esser cancellata.

Se rimuovi un'immagine da una voce, indica tale voce nella richiesta di cancellazione, in modo che la comunità possa valutare meglio se l'immagine debba esser cancellata.

To list an image:

1	Edit the image page. Add {{ifd|log=2024 aprile 23}} to the image page.
2	Create its IfD subsection. Follow this edit link and list the image at the bottom of that page using {{subst:Ifd2|Image_name.ext|Uploader= |Reason= }} ~~~~ If the image has been replaced by another image, also list that image in your reasons, in the format " Image1.jpg - obsoleted by Image2.jpg". Please refer below for a list of common reasons.
3	Give due notice. Inform the uploader by adding a message to their talk page using {{subst:idw|Image:Image_name.ext}} Remember to replace "Image_name.ext" with the name of the image or media For multiple images by the same user, use {{subst:idw-multi|Image:First_Image.ext|Image:Second_Image.ext|Image:Third_Image.ext}} ~~~~ (can handle up to 26) If the image is in use, also consider adding {{ifdc|Image:Image_name.ext|log=2024 aprile 23}} to the caption(s), or adding a notice to the article talk pages.

State the reasons why the image should be deleted. Some common reasons are:

• Obsolete - The image has been replaced by a better version. Indicate the new image name (often abbreviated OB)
• Orphan - The image is not used on any pages in Wikipedia. (If the image is only available under "fair use", please use Template:Tls instead). Please consider moving "good" free licensed images to Commons rather than outright deleting them, other projects may find a use for them even if we have none; you can also apply {{Copy to Wikimedia Commons}} . (often abbreviated OR, not to be confused with original research which generally doesn't apply to images)
• Unencyclopedic - The image doesn't seem likely to be useful in this encyclopedia. Images used on userpages should generally not be nominated on this basis alone unless the user is violating the en:Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not policy by using Wikipedia to host excessive amounts unencyclopedic material (most commonly private photos). (often abbreviated UE)
• Low quality - The image is of an extremely low resolution, distorted, or has other physical image quality concerns. (often abbreviated LQ)
• Copyright violation - The image might be used in violation of copyright. (often abbreviated CV)

These are not the only "valid" reasons to delete an image. Any properly explained reason can be used. The above list comprises the most common and uncontroversial ones.

Since abbreviated deletion reasons will not be familiar to most Wikipedians, especially newbies, please consider using full words. A few extra keystrokes now can save paragraphs of explanation to a panicked uploader wondering what's wrong with their image.

If you remove an image from an article, list the article from which you removed it so there can be community review of whether the image should be deleted. This is necessary because image pages do not remember the articles on which the images were previously used (see talk page). were previously used (see talk page).
