La stagione 2020 dei Carolina Panthers sarà la 26ª della franchigia nella National Football League, la prima con Matt Rhule come capo-allenatore.[1] Per la prima volta dal 2010 lo storico allenatore Ron Rivera non farà parte della squadra, essendo passato ai Washington Redskins. Per la prima volta dal 2011, il linebacker Luke Kuechly non farà parte del roster avendo annunciato il ritiro il 14 gennaio.

Il calendario della fase prestagionale è stato annunciato il 7 maggio 2020. Tuttavia, il 27 luglio 2020, il commissioner della NFL Roger Goodell ha annunciato la cancellazione totale della pre-stagione, a causa della pandemia di Covid-19.[2]
