I don't speak Italian but was surprised to find Carlo Spinola's birthplace as Genoa in Italian Wikipedia but Madrid in French/ English wikipedia. According to https://web.archive.org/web/20140222051538/http://www.jesuit.org.sg/html/companions/saints.martys/september/spinola.kimura.html: Charles Spinola was born in Madrid, Spain. His father the Italian Count of Tassarolo, was tutor to Prince Rudolph, the Emperor’s son. After his early studies in Spain, Charles was sent to the Jesuit school in Nola, Italy where he lived with his uncle Philip Spinola, the Bishop of Nola.

Maybe someone can find another source in italian to confirm and update as necessary... Grazie
