Windows Azure è il nome di un sistema operativo Microsoft, variante di Windows Server 2008, sviluppato per supportare Windows Azure Platform. È stato annunciato con il nome Windows Cloud alla Professional Developers Conference il 27 ottobre 2008 da Steve Ballmer, ed è basato su Windows Server, con caratteristiche quali geo replication, network management model ed un modello SOA.

Il 1 febbraio 2010 è stato lanciato sul mercato, disponibile in 21 paesi.
