That's the Way It Is è un brano musicale della cantante canadese Céline Dion, estratta come singolo dall'album All the Way... A Decade of Song, e pubblicati il 1º novembre 1999.

That's the Way It Is è stata scritta e prodotta dal team guidato da Max Martin e Kristian Lundin, che avevano lanciato artisti come gli 'N Sync ed i Backstreet Boys.[6] Céline Dion non a caso eseguì il brano dal vivo proprio con gli 'N Sync, durante uno speciale televisivo della CBS nel 1999. La versione del brano presente nell'album fu in seguito inclusa nel greatest hits The Collector's Series, Volume One.

Il video prodotto per That's the Way It Is, diretto da Liz Friedlander, fu trasmesso per la prima volta l'8 novembre 1999 e venne nominato pal MuchMusic Video Awards.

That's the Way It Is ebbe un enorme successo, ottenendo il disco di platino in Svezia, dove vendette 20 000 copie, ed il disco d'oro in Australia (35 000 copie), Belgio (25 000 copie), Germania (250 000 copie) e disco d'argento in Francia (157 000 copie). Inoltre il disco vendette 88 100 copie nel Regno Unito e 58 000 negli Stati Uniti.

La rivista musicale Billboard ha assegnato a That's the Way It Is il riconoscimento "BDS Certified Spin Award - 500 000 Spins" nell'agosto 2006. Da quando il brano è stato lanciato nel novembre 1999, è stata trasmessa 500 000 volte in quasi 1400 stazioni radio fra Canada e Stati Uniti.
