Out of Step è l'unico full-length della hardcore punk band statunitense Minor Threat. L'album è uscito nell'aprile del 1983 per l'etichetta discografica Dischord Records. Il disco divenne rapidamente un'icona dell'hardcore americano[1], e fu in seguito fonte di ispirazione per molte band emo[1] e punk revival[1].
All Music Guide elogia tutti i musicisti della band: i chitarristi Brian Baker e Lyle Preslar per i loro memorabili riff di chitarra[1], Jeff Nelson per la potenza della batteria[1] e il cantante Ian MacKaye[1]. L'album è stato definito uno dei più influenti di tutti i tempi[2]. La band mostra un miglioramento nei testi e nelle musiche[2], in particolare nella traccia Betray, con un eccellente riff di chitarra[2].
