Michael Martin Murphey (Dallas, 14 marzo 1945) è un cantautore statunitense di musica western, country e folk.
Ha ottenuto molte nomination Grammy, e sei album d'oro, incluso Cowboys Songs, il primo album di musica cowboy a essere disco d'oro dopo Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs del 1959 di Marty Robbins. Murphey ha inciso le hit Wildfire, Carolina in the Pines, What's Forever For, A Long Line of Love, What She Wants, don't Count the Rainy Days. È anche l'autore della ballata del New Mexico "The Land of Enchantment.
