I Maroon 5 sono un gruppo musicale pop rock/funk rock statunitense costituito a Los Angeles nel 1997.

Il gruppo nasce dalle ceneri dei Kara's Flowers, formato da compagni del liceo Brentwood di Los Angeles. Dopo l'album d'esordio, The Fourth World, del 1997, il gruppo cambia nome in Maroon 5. Nel giugno del 2002, con l'uscita di un nuovo album, Songs About Jane, il gruppo intraprende una serie di tour insieme ad artisti quali Sheryl Crow, John Mayer, Nikka Costa e Phantom Planet.
Nel marzo 2007 esce l'album It Won't Be Soon Before Long, anticipato dal singolo Makes Me Wonder, che raggiunge la prima posizione della classifica Billboard Hot 100. Gli altri singoli estratti sono Wake Up Call, Won't Go Home Without You e Goodnight Goodnight. Il singolo If I Never See Your Face Again viene ripubblicato in una nuova versione che vede come ospite la cantante Rihanna.
Il 9 dicembre 2008 esce una raccolta di remix, Call and Response: The Remix Album.
Il 21 settembre 2010 esce il terzo album, Hands All Over, anticipato dal singolo Misery. Gli altri singoli estratti sono Give a Little More, uscito il 17 agosto e Never Gonna Leave This Bed.
Il 22 giugno 2011 esce il singolo Moves Like Jagger, che vede la collaborazione della cantante Christina Aguilera. Sono le Guest Stars nel 2º episodio della quinta stagione di C.S.I.New York.
