KONTORA is Russian and it means Office. MIR means peace or world in Russian.

KONTORA MIR "DER TRANSFER IST AUS"

a project founded by Vito Pace as part of the 2nd Biannual Festival in Shirjaevo, Tangibility, Russia in 2001, is a place for artistic and multimedial intercommunication, a discussion forum, and a site for archiving and collecting the submitted materials.

The nature of the original project led to a continuation both in the Web, in cooperation with kultur.at / Martin Krusche and rhizome.org, as well as in workshops and collaborations with several universities and art academies. These real and virtual results represent both the process and the conclusion of Kontora Mir.

In the exhibition DER TRANSFER IST AUS (The transfer has been completed), the artist will a construct an ambiente ex-novo. The exhibition will be presented in Milan on June 5th and 6th 2006 at Durchblick, in cooperation with Piscina Comunale/arte in copisteria and Casa di Tolleranza.

In using the Durchblick exhibition space, Kontora Mir is, for the first time, utilizing an actual physical space for its activities: The Office of Peace is closing down. This represents one of the possible developments of the project, but also the specificmanner in which the project is brought to a close. The conclusion of Kontora Mir represents a banquet, during which the 6 years of experience and contributions acquired in the Office of Peace can be relished.

This final experience is an inevitable source of new communication and encounters - experiencing the conclusion excludes a further transfer process, at the same time eliminating the possibility of a tangible conclusion.

Lives and works in Germany and Sweden I use multi media. This enables me to approach a topic from several perspectives. My philosophy is to extend boundaries, remove barriers that inhibit the creative process.

I explore new ways of thinking. I am investigating the relationship of design elements.

It is important to understand that diversity and unstableness don`t have to be feared, they should be embraced.

I collaborate with artists, who are experts in video, photography, sculpture and installations. We are exploring ideas about perception and relationships. Our daily interactions are influencing my work in an essential progression. I am interested in taking everyday items, such as making coffee. To make them larger-than-life through abstraction and manipulation of time and space.

I am most interested in projects that educate, enhance the environment and stimulate our culture.
