Ha giocato con i South Dakota State Jackrabbit per quattro anni, squadra rappresentativa dell'università del South Dakota.

Al draft NFL 1996 non è stato selezionato ma in seguito è stato firmato dai Patriots tra i rookie non draftati. Ha debuttato nella NFL il 1º settembre 1996 contro i Miami Dolphins indossando la maglia numero 4. Con i Patriots ha vinto 3 Super Bowl.
